How do you handle stressful times? Last night in bed we had the following conversation...
Matt: I'm freakin out!!
Me: What? Why?.....Should I slap you?
Matt: Why would I want you to slap me?
Me: I dunno. That's what they do on TV and movies and it always seems to help...
Matt: *long pause, considering the proposition*
We both had a good laugh as we joked about the cliche that is the bi slap and it seemed to help with the freaking out. Why is it that hitting someone is violence or abuse except for when it's trying to console a panicked or hyperventilating person? When did that become socially acceptable?
