boxes are consuming my life

I can't believe it's already almost May!

and that this long, exhausting semester is almost over!

And lastly....I really can't believe in 4 days Mr. Matthew and I will finally be making the move to California.

...Did I mention we found an apartment?
Well, technically Matt's Dad and step-mom found it. Which means, we still haven't seen it. But we signed a 12 month lease on it. Yeah...kinda can't believe that either.

photographs

The first 6 pictures I took as an assignments for my photography class using a film camera. They're all hand developed by me. I did the lazy version of scanning them...which means I just took pictures of them with my Iphone. Ha. It works.
The rest are pictures I took using different filters. Hope you enjoy!

"deamon in hell"

Something I love about moving is that you get to go through all of your things and see what you need, what you don't, what you want to keep and stuff you really should have thrown away a long time ago.

Tonight Matt went and got loads of free boxes for us to start packing up the office and guest room. And while doing that I found an old shoe box filled with all the notes from my friends during those awkward middle school and junior high years. I had to smile as I eagerly carried the box into the living room and started sifting through all my notes. Remembering all the drama, secrets, crushes and friendships. It wasn't after long I realized there was no way I could read them all so I was going to scan a few and share them. But then I couldn't decide, so I took some snap shots of the highlights and thought I'd upload those.

People, I have never laughed harder. Ok I probably have. But it was definitely giggle worthy.

I think I should point out the "Daemon in Hell" and the arrow that goes from my name to the burning daemon. Also, that the boy who gave me this note had a crush on me...and took me on my first date. Hahaha! Priceless.

This last note is from my bestest friend, Jessica. We were basically siamese twins all through 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th grade (until I moved to Connecticut.) But we still keep in touch and when we play it's like no time has passed at all. I love this girl! And it's so fun to see how our friendship grew...Yeah, we were awesome.

apartment hunt continues

Santa Barbara!!

Matt and I just got back from our trip to Santa Barbara where we were looking for a place to live for when we move there. We went out very optimistic with high hopes of finding an apartment in one week. Ha! Yes. We are very silly people.

Things we've learned.
1. Costs of renting and living are triple what they are here in Utah.
2. There are real live gangs with real live stabbings and shootings in Santa Barbara and this affects where you want to live.
3. It doesn't matter what king of ghetto we live in...we'll turn it into our home.

And that's the most important thing. We're a little family and the most important thing is being together. Including Sawyer. We had no idea when we bought Sawyer 5 months ago how much he'd mean to us. But we missed that little stinker so much!! When we got back he wouldn't leave our side. He kept jumping in our suitcase with his ball, haha.

Anyway, the point is we are homeless. Ok, not currently but we're moving out April 29th and if we don't find a place to live by then...welp, let's think happy thoughts =)

pee on windows

The husb and I are currently in Santa Barbara apartment hunting. We got here Monday night and in the last 48 hours have seen more apartments, condos and town homes than 1 person should EVER have to see in their entire lives.

We have found a few that seem almost perfect, but the soybean throws a wrench in it. Not saying we'd ever trade Sawyer for good housing...but, you get what I mean. One lady we were talking to on the phone put it like this:

O.P. (which stands for Old Person): "No pets!! I don't allow it...they just pee all over the windows!!"

????
...Huh....

Now that I think of it...we do have a pretty big problem. Not only does Sawyer pee all over the windows but on the ceiling, our TV, on top of the fridge...Haha! Good grief.
